With over thirty years experience under the leadership of Dr. Jay C Grochmal, we specialize in LASIK, cataract surgery, and glaucoma procedures. No matter your age, we serve patients throughout the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. metro area, from Ellicott City to Annapolis with the latest, safest and most medically advanced eye corrective procedures.
We are a full-service ophthalmic & optical center; every patient’s eye care needs can be treated at our office. Our dedication to eye care extends beyond our own community. Our mission is to provide compassion and service also to those in need outside of the United States. We are also concerned about and have served patients in developing countries that cannot afford quality eye care. As a result, our doctors have made several trips to Third World countries to provide this much needed service.

Dr. Jay C. Grochmal
Jay C. Grochmal, MD is the founder of Grochmal Eye Center and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is experienced in a range of procedures that can correct vision irregularities and effectively treat common eye conditions and diseases.
Angela Hanneman, O.D.
Angela Hanneman, O.D. was born and raised in Ohio and recently moved to Baltimore. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, Ohio where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois where she was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and the Tomb and Key Honor Society.
Dr. Hanneman also participated in mission trips to Guatemala and Honduras to provide medical and eye care to those with financial hardship. Dr. Hanneman is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Maryland Optometric Association.
Her professional interests include medical eye care, contact lenses, and dry eye management. Outside of the office, Dr. Hanneman enjoys reading books, hiking, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
